From TANTRA FOR ALL CHAKRAS* by Sasha Alex Lessin, Ph.D., Dean, School of Tantra & Janet Kira Lessin, CEO, Aquarian Radio
Tantra, sacred sexuality, the art of conscious loving, kama sutra, and chakras–what’s all this fuss about eye gazing, breathing together, aligning chakras and women having squirting orgasms anyway ? To someone who’s just learning about tantra, all the hoopola may seem confusing and an over-simplification of what actually is an ancient, high-spritual practice that’s older than the hills, dates back to ancient Sumer and the Anunnaki gods who settled the Earth. Tantra was the first spiritual practice and is older than all other religions and spiritual beliefs. Tantra’s involved, complicated, more than sex, involves clearing and activating all our chakras and healing at all levels.
We awaken our kundalini energy, become conscious and aware and develop an aware ego through our tantric exercises. Not a simple task when you realize most don’t even know about chakras and kundalini and are so unconscious they’re not even aware they’re unconscious. But that’s fine. That just means there’s a lot to learn and learning’s fun, especially if it involves sex.
Tantra, an ancient spiritual practice and high art form given us by the gods, helps us–their children–awaken, be conscious, feel oneness with each other, remember who we are and experience unity with all that is. Tantra’s spiritual psychology that clears chakras (energy centers in the body), heals ancient wounds and reprograms cultural conditioning that has distanced us from those we love.
Tantra involves yoga stretching to heal our bodies, connect our breath and postures, center and balance us. Tantra meditation triggers electromagnetic kundalini that surges orgasmically up our spines, connecting us to lovers and to the divine. Tantric practices simultaneously make heighten our sense of both individuality and loving oneness with our beloveds. Tantra mandates clear communication, kind relating and sensual mating that soars us in sweet sacred surrender from the depths of our soul to stratospheric heights where we lose ourselves in the beauty of love.
Tantra’s centering, the balance of yin/yang, male female, inner/outer, above/below, adult/child. When we center ourselves, we develop an Aware Ego and become conscious of prejudices and judgements towards others. We notice criticisms with which we punish ourselves. We tame our demons and learn how to take personal responsibility for our own baggage and not project it outward onto others in harmful ways.
Tantra’s feeling others as we feel ourselves taking others into consideration when making decisions. Tantra’s consensus reality, embracing group mind while honoring individuality and consciousness in each being, respecting and granting all free will and creative expression.
The tantric path is a spiritual discipline, where we practice bhakti yoga (divine service), to the apparent other, the beloved, our lover and personalized God or Goddess. They, in kind, lovingly are in service to us, devoted to our healing, well-being and personal growth. In this sacred service We discover giving and receiving are the same.
Tantra’s weaving, weaving all the levels of our awareness, called chakras, within us and between us and those we love. Chakras correlate with our body parts, loosely associated where ganglia join; at the bottom of our torso, genitals, belly, heart, throat, brain and neocortex.
Our first chakra relates to our perineum, our need to belong, feel safe, secure and healthy, grounded in our material and emotional existence.
The second chakra relates to our sexuality and reproductive organs, our need to feel sexual and sensual.
The third chakra’s our belly, the need to take what’s rightfully ours and empower ourselves.
The fourth chakra’s our heart which guides us to love, cherish, support, heal and encourage ourselves and our lover.
The fifth chakra’s the throat where we learn how to communicate clearly, kindly, authentically.
The sixth chakra’s the home of the brain: vision, intuition, intellect where we learn how to receive, share and expand visions for ourselves, each other, others we love, our community and world.
In the crown (7th) chakra tantric meditations invoke awareness of our unity with everyone and everything.
Tantra helps us rise to broader perspectives, yet stay aware of the wisdom of all our chakras. We encompass more than what we think we are and expand our awareness to more than our body. We expand our perspective to even more than awareness of us and our darling, more than the awareness we share with each other and with humans, with life itself, or even with the Earth. We feel our oneness with everyone and everything everywhere at all-times. We experience unity, the seamless web of consciousness linking the manifest universe. We merge with the latent–unformed but constantly arising reality of the metacosmic void, identify with divine play that can manifest all forms and appreciate endless diversity while knowing we’re one with it all, in love will all creation.
ALL-CHAKRA RELATING EXERCISE
Do with partner, face-to-face, screen-to-screen or with yourself as you look into your own eyes in a full-length mirror
Activate seven levels of consciousness associated with specific chakras or energy centers in and around seven levels of your body and identify your needs at each of your chakras, express these needs and notice what’s available in the here-and-now to satisfy these needs.
DO THE CHAKRA CHANT, OPEN FLOWERS & EXPERIENCE NEEDS ASSOCIATED WITH EACH
To activate your chakras, we chant the Chakra Chant (Bija Mantra), an ancient Sanskrit meditation, loud and strong. We’ll chant seven one-syllable words–lam, vam, ram, yam, ham, ooo and mmm; each activates a different chakra.
When you chant LAM you activate your first chakra, the chakra associated with your perineum and get in touch with your needs of your inner child–for health, safety, security and belonging.
VAM, for the second chakra, invigorates your genitals and your need for satisfying sex.
RAM, chakra three, associated with your belly, activates your need for power.
For the fourth chakra you chant YAM to help you hear your heart and focus on your needs to give and get love.
When you chant HAM, the syllable for your fifth chakra, you realize what you need to express.
Your sixth chakra–the brow or vision chakra–vibrates when you chant OOO, and makes your needs to understand and intuit salient.
When you chant MMM, the sound associated with your seventh (spiritual) chakra, you experience your need to feel your oneness with others and the universe.
To begin the process of activating our chakras so we can apply gestalt therapy to the needs of each, we being by chanting the name of each three times. As you chant a chakra’s syllable, touch each and visualize roses opening there.
Security Chakra (Lam)
TOUCH YOUR PERINEUM. CHANT LAM THREE TIMES. AFTER EACH LAM YOU CHANT, SQUEEZE YOUR ANAL SPHINCTER AND SEE A RED ROSE OPEN THERE. IN THE CENTER OF THE LAST ROSE, PICTURE YOURSELF HEALTHY, SERENE AND SAFE.
Sexual Chakra (Vam)
TOUCH YOUR GENITALS AND CHANT VAM THREE TIMES. AFTER EACH VAM, SQUEEZE YOUR PC MUSCLES. INHALE AND IMAGINE AN ORANGE ROSEBUD IN YOUR GENITALS. EXHALE AND IT OPENS; IN IT, SEE YOURSELF MAKE LOVE.
Power Chakra (Ram)
HANDS ON LOWER BELLY: THREE TIMES, CHANT RAM. A YELLOW ROSE OPENS IN YOUR BELLY WITH EACH RAM. EACH ROSE SHOWS YOU SYMBOLS AND SCENES OF POWER, REMINDERS TO TAKE WHAT’S YOURS.
Love Chakra (Yam)
REST YOUR PALMS ON YOUR CHEST, CHANT YAM AND A GREEN ROSE OPENS IN YOUR HEART. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROSE SEE SOMEONE YOU LOVE WHO LOVES YOU TOO. TWICE MORE, CHANT YAM, OPEN HEART ROSES AND PICTURE PEOPLE YOU LOVE.
Expression Chakra (Ham)
HANDS AT THROAT, THREE TIMES, CHANT HAM, OPEN BLUE ROSES IN YOUR THROAT. HEAR, IN YOUR MIND’S EAR, YOUR THROAT SINGING YOUR SONG, ONE THAT REMINDS YOU OF WHAT YOU NEED TO SAY TO AUTHENTICALLY EXPRESS YOURSELF.
Clarity Chakra (Ooo)
HOLD YOUR HEAD, BROW TO OCCIPUT, IN YOUR HANDS. CHANT OOO THREE TIMES. WITH EACH OOO, SEE A VIOLET ROSE OPEN IN THE PART OF YOUR SKULL BETWEEN YOUR HANDS. EACH OF THE THREE VIOLET ROSES REVEALS A VISION. FIRST VISION: YOU AT YOUR BEST; SECOND: YOU AND THOSE YOU LOVE LIVING YOUR LOVING POTENTIAL; THIRD: THE WORLD AT BEST.
Connection Chakra (Mmm)
TAP THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR FINGERTIPS AND CHANT MMM THREE TIMES AS THOUSAND-PETALED WHITE LOTUS BLOSSOMS UNFOLD BENEATH YOUR FINGERS. IMAGINE WHITE LIGHT GUSHES FROM YOUR CROWN, MEETS THE LIGHT OF THE PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE AND LIGHT FROM THE CROWNS OF ALL HUMANITY.
Chant LAM, VAM, RAM, YAM, HAM, OOO, MMM
THREE TIMES, SING LAM, VAM, RAM, YAM, HAM, OOO, MMM (THE ENTIRE CHAKRA CHANT) IN A SINGLE EXHALE. YOUR CENTRAL CHANNEL OF CHAKRAS VIBRATES.
Hear each chakra’s message.
Lam says, “You belong”;
Vam, “Savor sex”.
Ram, “Take yours”.
Yam, “Love and let love”.
