The late and Great Zecharia Sitchin researched the Anunnaki from planet Nibiru for over 70 years. Zecharia Sitchin (July 11, 1920 — October 9, 2010) was an Azerbaijani-born American author of books promoting an explanation for human origins involving ancient astronauts. Sitchin attributes the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture to the Anunnaki, which he states was a race of extra-terrestrials from a planet beyond Neptune called Nibiru. He believed this hypothetical planet of Nibiru to be in an elongated, elliptical orbit in the Earth’s own Solar System, asserting that Sumerian mythology reflects this view. Sitchin’s books have sold millions of copies worldwide and have been translated into more than 26 languages.
ZECHARIA SITCHIN by Janet Kira Lessin
While Zecharia Sitchin was busy researching, writing and forging ahead with the Nin.Puabi Goddess of Ur Genome Project, it became extremely difficult for him to walk. Soon, everything he was so busy doing (even at age 90!) came to a sudden halt — he was diagnosed with the final onset of prostate cancer. Within a few short weeks, on the morning of October 9th, 2010, he left us and moved gracefully onto his next journey.
Though he is not here physically, the writings, research and ideas that he brought to life, remain with us. Zecharia opened a door… inviting us to inquire, to study, to learn and to discover or, shall we say, “re-discover” where we came from….. where we are going…. and how we are personally connected. We all look forward to the day when this type of knowledge is accepted by the mainstream and can be discussed openly on a larger scale.
Let October 9th, not become a sad day. Instead, let it be a day to celebrate Zecharia and to remember him. Let October 9th, become a “Sitchin Studies Day”–a day to share your thoughts with someone about his work and legacy, to read some of his books or references, to educate yourself more, become wiser and get connected to all people of Earth.
Several years ago a certificate was given to Zecharia for his lifelong work and
accomplishments. It read as follows:
Our teacher, our mentor.
You have opened before us the door of history,
reconnecting us to our ancient past. You have given us a great foundation
in knowing what was.
Thank you for your dedicated research
and commitment in educating us with this knowledge.
Just as Zecharia in Hebrew means “Remembered by God”,
we too will remember what you have taught us
and will share this knowledge with others.
You are truly a ray of light that has touched us all!
