LEBANON LURCHED from Ancient Anunnaki Landing Place to Hezbollah Hell

By Sasha Alex Lessin, Ph.D. (Anthropology, UCLA)

Dominators And Cooperators in The Land of the Cedars

Long before anyone called this narrow Mediterranean land LEBANON, its snow-capped mountains, deep valleys, cedar forests, and coastline made it one of Earth’s extraordinary meeting places.

Before Zecharia Sitchin translated ancient Akkadian records of the settlement of the Eastern Mediterranean coast, the Denosbans had retreated from the Eastern Mediterranean and settled in the Mountains of Turkey. The Denosovans continued to build their ceremonial centers and small settlements in Turkey, beyond the awareness of the Goldmining Expedition from the Planet Nibiru. The Nibirans on Earth had our ancestors call them Anunnaki [meaning both People from the Sky and descendants of Anunnaki King Anu], and settled in Iraq and Lebanon around 442,000 BCE. Nibiran King Anu landed on the landing platform his sons had built at the site in modern Lebanon we now call Baalbek.
Later, farmers, villagers, Phoenician mariners, Assyrian conquerors, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Christians, Muslims, Crusaders, Mamluks, Ottomans, French colonial administrators, Israelis, and the Iranian terrorist organization Hezbollah settled Lebanon.

Again and again, from the Anunnaki to the present day, Lebanon’s rulers, indoctrinated with the Anunnaki ideology of domination by ruler, class, and caste, proclaimed their right to command. Repeatedly, the common people in Lebanon’s villages
survived through families, villages, trade, mutual assistance, accommodation, resistance, and rebuilding. Through this history, these two ideologies of governance contended and failed to balance giving and taking of enormous wealth passing through their territory.

DOMINATORS proclaimed, We have come from another world. We require a secure place for our craft. Build it enormous. Restrict access. This place belongs to those who command the skies. We command. You obey. Your land, labor, wealth, and lives serve our purposes.

COOPERATORS, in thrall to Anunnaki Princess Ninmah, the Great Goddess of Crete, grumbled to each other: We share this land. Let us find ways to live, create, and prosper together. The Lebanese have experienced, and still suffer from, political tension over the giving-and-taking dimension in their land. Technology can connect worlds. Let knowledge and transportation serve life, not establish another hierarchy of rulers over workers.

380,000 BCE: ANZU, A ROYAL IN THE “SPARE” LINEAGE OF NIBIRU’S EX-KING ALALU, LED THE ANUNNAKI ASTRONAUT CORPS FROM MARS AGAINST THE ANUNNAKI ROYALS ON EARTH

ANZU belonged to the lineage of the deposed & executed Nibiran King Alalu. Anzu ruled 300 Igigi—shuttle-service Nibiran astronauts (aka Nephilim) who served on Mars bases & in orbit above Iraq. They built & placed PHOBOS, an artificial, potato-shaped hollow moon, 6000 years ago from Mars’ surface.

The Igigi rocketed to Sippar, loaded gold & returned workers from Sippar to Mars & from Mars to Nibiru. They flew replacements & supplies back to Earth every 3,600 years or so.

ENLIL, boss of the Earth Expedition, made the Igigi work on puny rations & “elixir” [a drink that got them high]. Anzu demanded better work conditions, more elixir & a recreation center on Earth for the Igigi.

ANU, the Nibiran King, ordered Anzu to go to Iraq to explain the astronauts’ demands.

Anzu & a rocket full of his men landed at the Spaceport (Sippar). Anzu flew to Enlil’s Headquarters in NIPPUR.

Enlil wouldn’t, at first, show Anzu the control room. I alone rule all Earth operations, Enlil said. You & the Igigi must obey, not challenge, me. However, Enki, Chief of Expedition Transport, got Enlil to show Anzu the gold mining, refining & transport controls to keep Anzu’s men working. Enlil gave in & told Anzu, We must wear sterile clothes.

Enlil stripped. Anzu stole his keys, slipped into the control room & seized the crystals
[computers] & MEs [portable command modules] that ran Anunnaki settlements. Each ME ran something that only its owner could run. Anzu got Enlil’s Earth-Command ME & forced pilot Abgal to fly him to Shuruppak (the spaceport) where Anzu’s men declared Anzu King of Earth & Mars. Anzu cut services at headquarters (Nibru-ki) & broke Earth-Nibiru messaging. From his craft, he buzzed Enlil’s stations.

Enlil’s son NINURTA, coached by Enki, who built both Anzu’s & Ninurta’s planes, launched his craft & shot down Anzu’s craft, freed Abgal & retrieved the crystals that ran everything. Ninurta dragged Anzu to the 7 Who Judge—Enki, Enki’s wife Damkina & his son Marduk, Enlil & his sons Ninurta & Nannar. They found Anzu guilty of treason & Ninurta killed him “with a killing ray.”

King Anu, who’d displaced Marduk as Alalu’s successor to Nibiru’s Crown, gave Marduk, the King’s potential rival as Nibiru’s King, command of Marsbase & said, On Mars, display Anzu’s body then bury him there; let the astronauts see & to remind you that Ninurta kills rebels, so I expect you, though you once were Nibiru’s Pretender, to obey me.

100,000 BCE: MARDUK MARRIED SARPANIT AT BAALBEK

At the Landing Place at Baalbek, Anunnaki Prince MARDUK, son of their Chief Scientist, Enki, fell in love with an Earthling woman descended from Enki’s Hybrid son Adapa; her name was SARPANIT.

A Marduk-Sarpanit union would blur the hitherto existing boundary between Anunnaki and Earthlings because it would bind both Anunnaki lineages Enlil’s Enlil-ies and his son’s daughter with Marduk’s Enki-ite lineage, as well as obligating Marduk to stop challenging Enlil politically. Marduk planned to align with the Earthlings and, with them, overcome Enlil’s rule on Earth, and eventually, with an Earthling army he’d create, take back the Crown of Nibiru from Anu, who had ignored the treaty between King Alalu and Anu, who had been Alalu’s cupbearer.

1000 BCE: IGIGI ASTRONAUTS TOOK EARTHLING WOMEN

Enlil and Anu let Marduk marry Earthling Sarpanit to stop him from ever ruling Nibiru.

Marduk coordinated the rite so his astronaut (Igigi) allies who attended revolted. Enlil’s granddaughter Inanna and Enki’s son Dumuzi, of the Enlilite and Enkiite lineages respectively, flirted, then left the wedding.  Then the Igigi eloped with 200 Adapite Earthling women.  The Igigi brought their new mates to the Baalbek Landing Platform and, from there, threatened to attack directly unless he recognized the women with whom they eloped as legal wives and gave them estates on Earth.  They prepared to man the interplanetary launch platform Marduk said he’d build in Babylon.

Anunnaki dominators mused, Personnel will obey command. Earthlings remain Earthlings. We determine who may mate with whom; the Adapite women, trained to cooperate, retorted, We choose our partners ourselves. No commander owns another being’s affection.

10,900 BCE:  THE DELUGE DESTROYED THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN STATIONS, BUT THE BAALBEK LANDING SURVIVED

Then catastrophe transformed Earth. The Deluge of 11,000 BCE overwhelmed the Anunnaki settlements and installations. The Anunnaki spaceport at SIPPAR disappeared beneath floodwater and mud.

Baalbek, however, stood high in Lebanon’s Cedar Mountains, so its immense platform survived. When the Anunnaki returned after the catastrophe, Baalbek provided A LANDING PLACE THAT STILL WORKED.

Dominators mused, Our installations are gone; we must secure the surviving facilities for ourselves. Cooperators whispered among themselves, Life survived. Seeds survived. Animals survived. Let us restore the devastated Earth together.

10,500 BCE: THE ANUNNAKI CREATED A NEW SPACE NETWORK

After the Deluge, the Anunnaki developed a new rocket route between Earth and Nibiru. Baalbek remained a landing place, but now they built a new Spaceport in Sinai to replace the mud-covered one at Sippar.

They established a new spaceport in Sinai. Jerusalem became its hidden Mission Control, and the Giza pyramids’ designer, Anunnaki genius Ningishzidda/Thoth, emplaced navigational components in the Great Pyramid. The ancient Landing Place in Lebanon therefore became a marker for incoming rockets on their way to the new Spaceport Landing Lane on the Sinai Peninsula.

Dominators commented, We control transportation, communications, and navigation, and now we control all traffic to and from the Earth.  Ninmah, however, told her cooperation-embracing devotees, We must connect the surviving communities. Let communication and transportation reunite rather than divide Earth.

2860 BCE: GILGAMESH & ENKIDU SAW ROCKET BLAST FROM BAALBEK

By the time when GILGAMESH ruled Uruk in Iraq for Princess Inanna, he knew Lebanon was reserved for the Anunnaki “gods” sometimes as they flew to and from Earth from Nibiru. He knew the area was taboo to Earthlings–even those like himself, a 3/4 Anunnaki.

Gilgamesh wanted what ordinary humans could not obtain: IMMORTALITY.

With ENKIDU, Gilgamesh journeyed toward the Cedar Mountains. They saw brilliant fire, heard tremendous noise, forced an entry through a restricted entrance, and fought robo-guardians.

Dominators declared, Immortality belongs to the gods. Humans shall remain outside; Cooperators complained, Knowledge of life and death should belong to we Earthlings too, not just Anunnaki Royals.

3000–539 BCE: PHOENICIANS TURNED LEBANON TOWARD THE SEA

Phoenicia was an ancient region along the eastern Mediterranean coast. Its area corresponds to what is now Lebanon, adjoining parts of modern Syria & Israel. Phoenicians, who lived along major trade routes, became merchants, traders & colonizers by 1000 BCE.

Phoenicians merged with Aryans displaced during the Late Bronze Age Collapse, then merged with Greeks in Greece and Anatolia to create the Mycenaean civilization, which, under Alexander of Macedon, became the dominant power in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Their main cities were Byblos, Sidon, Tyre & BeirutThey descended from the rebel Anunnaki Astronaut Corps (Igigi) & the super-slave Adap-ite Hybrids, who eloped after Prince Marduk’s wedding (100,000 BCE) in Iraq.

Phoenicians traded & settled colonists along Mediterranean islands & coasts.  From their mother city, Tyre, on the coast of Canaan, they ran colonies in Lebanon, Gaza, Palestine, Cyprus, Anatolia (Turkey), Sardinia, Cyprus & Malta.

From their North African city of Carthage, they dominated maritime & commercial power in the Mediterranean & traded with Southern Greece, Southern & Western Italy & Corsica.

They sailed & rowed into the Atlantic to the coasts of Western Europe, including Cornwall in Britain. Phoenicians planted settlements as stepping stones to mineral-rich Spain.

They traded metalwork, blown glass, ivory, glazed faience, salt, dried fish, cedar & pine.  They carried linen from Tyre, Byblos & Berytos, dyed cloth from Sidon & passengers to & from all their venues.

Both Anunnaki Prince Marduk & his rival, Princess Inanna/Astarte & their agents received Phoenician homage.

Minoan partnership culminated in Crete’s capital, Knossos; Ninmah, the Anunnaki great goddess of Crete, gave us a partnership alternative to the domination mindset of Enlil & Marduk, Anunnaki Princes from the Planet Nibiru who had settled Iraq & Palestine.

Greek civilization developed among Bronze Age peoples descended from the Phoenician settlers of Crete.  An Anunnaki couple–the Minos [King] may have been the Anunnaki sage Enki, whose mate, Ninmah, made sure Crete practiced partnership of the sexes.

5000 years ago, people from Crete’s partnership-oriented society settled in Athens, on Greece’s Attica Peninsula, where domination-driven Aryan refugees from the late Bronze Age Collapse joined them from every direction. To control the aggressive Greeks, the Minos invited the rulers of the Greek cities to send their young Greek kings-to-be & some princesses to Crete, where they trained as three-person teams, each with a bull, to create vaulting shows for their hosts. The Greek kings whose heirs were, albeit honored, hostages, whose stay in Knossos, the Cretan Capital, ensured their friendliness & continuing trade.

“On Crete, where the Goddess was still supreme, there were no signs of war.” Cretans traced descent lines through women, not men. Crete, the last bastion of Ninmah’s partnership-based society, represented the highest “god” as female. Even into the later Marduk/Zeus/Mycenean period in Greece, “Worship of Nature pervaded everything on Crete. Priestesses of the Goddess, not priests, played the central role in rituals.” Life on Crete “was permeated by ardent faith in Nature, the source of all creation & harmony. This faith led to the love of peace, a horror of tyranny & respect for the law. People of different racial stocks worked cooperatively for the common good. They shared wealth & a high standard of living, even for peasants.

The Minoan capital & port, “Knossos, had one hundred thousand inhabitants, streets paved & drained, fronted with neat three-story houses. Exercise & sports involved both men & women. Public ceremonies were primarily religious: processions, banquets & acrobatic displays, among them bull games in theaters & arenas. [Eisler: 30-31, 35-36, 43]

Ninmah preached sexual, ethnic & domestic partnerships. Her lands touted nonviolence, trade & travel. Her peaceful, unfortified cities lacked arms caches, armies, or enslaved people. People worshipped Ninmah across the Eastern Mediterranean islands in the Minoan Federation (named after Minos, King of Crete).

Crete’s partnership society provides a model for the belief that “government should represent the interests of the people” rather than the rulers’.

The teams of Mainland Greek Royal Hostages—”Guests”—vaulted at rituals led by High Priestess Ariadne, High Priestess of Crete.

Settlements along Lebanon’s coast developed into famous city-states including BYBLOS, SIDON and TYRE.

The people conventionally called PHOENICIANS became extraordinary sailors, merchants and craftspeople. They traded cedar, glass, wine and Tyrian purple throughout the Mediterranean and established settlements as far west as North Africa and Iberia.
Their alphabetic writing system profoundly influenced later alphabets.
Lebanon became a bridge among peoples.

Domination-programmed Greek Hostages noted, Since the Minos controls Crete’s ports, he could control their wealth. Ninmah’s cooperators countered, Trade lets strangers meet without conquering one another. Trade what we make and buy here on Crete; trade what you make here, and all communities prosper.

800s–332 BCE: EMPIRES WANTED THE PHOENICIAN CITIES

Assyrians, Babylonians, and Persians successively dominated the region.

The cities frequently survived by paying tribute while continuing to trade.

Tyre repeatedly resisted.

Then in 332 BCE, ALEXANDER THE GREAT attacked Tyre in Lebanon.

After a seven-month siege, his forces captured it, and again, ordinary inhabitants learned the ancient lesson of empire: A ruler hundreds of miles away could decide that their city belonged to him. Dominators declared, Submit, pay tribute, and acknowledge us, or we’ll take your city. Cooperators complained, Our homes are not trophies for kings.

LEBANON & THE NEW RELIGIONS

Rome incorporated Lebanon into its enormous empire.

At Baalbek, Roman builders erected monumental temples upon the ancient complex.

Beirut became an important center of Roman law.

Christianity spread.

Followers of MAROUN eventually formed the Maronite tradition that would become central to Lebanon’s identity; once again, Baalbek survived changes in rulers, language, and gods.

Dominators declared, Our empire is eternal. Cooperators complained, Empires pass. Communities, families, teachings, and memories remain.

636–1516: MUSLIMS, CHRISTIANS, DRUZE & CRUSADERS SHARED AND FOUGHT OVER LEBANON

Arab-Muslim conquest incorporated Lebanon into successive caliphates.

Sunni and Shiite communities took deep root.
Maronite communities flourished in the mountains.
The Druze faith emerged and became another enduring component of Lebanon’s religious landscape.

Then European Crusaders arrived. Castles rose.  Armies fought.

Saladin’s forces reversed Crusader expansion.
Mamluks later imposed their authority.
Yet beneath the rulers and armies, people still farmed, traded, married, worshipped and raised children.

Dominators declared, One ruler. One victorious army. Submit. Cooperators countered, Different faiths can inhabit the same mountain. None needs to erase the others.

1516–1918 — OTTOMAN RULE & MOUNT LEBANON

The Ottoman Empire controlled the region for approximately four centuries.

Yet Mount Lebanon developed substantial traditions of local authority under figures such as FAKHR AL-DIN II and the Shihab dynasty.

Maronites, Druze, Sunnis, Shiites, and others lived beside one another—sometimes cooperating, sometimes competing.

In 1860, communal violence devastated villages and killed thousands.

Later YOUSSEF BEY KARAM challenged Ottoman authority and demanded greater autonomy.

Dominator devotees declared, The empire appoints your governors; Cooperators complained, Those who live here should participate in deciding how we are governed.

1915–1918: WAR & FAMINE DEVASTATED ORDINARY LEBANESE

World War I brought catastrophe.Military rule, disrupted commerce, blockade, shortages, and agricultural disaster contributed to devastating famine.
Families starved.
Many Lebanese emigrated. The enormous Lebanese diaspora that exists today grew partly from generations who concluded that survival required leaving home.

War requirements come first. Civilians will endure whatever is necessary, said the rulers.
Feed the children first; no empire is more valuable than human life, replied the Great Goddess’ devotees.

1920–1943: FRANCE CREATED GREATER LEBANON

After the Ottoman Empire collapsed, France took control under the postwar mandate system.

On SEPTEMBER 1, 1920, the State of Greater Lebanon was proclaimed.
The boundaries of the modern state emerged.

But Lebanese people increasingly demanded independence.

Dominator class commentators said European powers would determine the borders and administer the new state; Cooperators countered, Lebanon belongs to the people who live in Lebanon.

1943–1974: INDEPENDENCE & BEIRUT’S GOLDEN YEARS

Lebanon achieved independence in 1943.

Its political system distributed offices among religious communities to balance competing populations and interests.

Beirut blossomed into a banking, publishing, educational, entertainment, and tourism center.
It became famous as the PARIS OF THE MIDDLE EAST.

Yet prosperity existed beside inequality, demographic change, Palestinian displacement, and growing regional tensions to which the ruling class responded, dividing political power among the country’s elites but imprisoning the common people of each constituency into permanently separated factions.

1975–1990: CIVIL WAR TORE LEBANON APART

On April 13, 1975, an attack on a bus helped ignite a conflict whose causes had accumulated over years.

Lebanese militias, Palestinian organizations, Syrian forces, Israeli forces, and outside powers became entangled in an extraordinarily complex war.

Neighborhoods divided.

Families fled.

People were killed, kidnapped, and displaced.

Beirut itself became physically divided.

For fifteen years, Lebanon demonstrated the ultimate destination of domination consciousness: Everybody armed against everybody else.

The Lebanese war became inseparable from the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982, aiming to remove the Palestine Liberation Organization’s military presence.

The PLO leadership eventually departed Beirut.

HEZBOLLAH

Another force, the terrorist movement, grew amid war and occupation.
Iran financed, armed, and trained
HEZBOLLAH.
Hezbollah developed simultaneously as an armed organization, political movement and provider of social services, particularly within Shiite communities.

Israel withdrew most of its forces from southern Lebanon in 2000.

But Hezbollah retained its weapons.
That unresolved question would become central to Lebanon’s future:
WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO WAGE WAR FROM LEBANESE TERRITORY?

Hezbollah Dominators said, Our weapons protect our people. Nobody can make us surrender our guns and artillery. Cooperators, on the other hand, contended, If several armies independently decide when the nation fights, Lebanon can never govern itself.

2005–2020:  ASSASSINATION, PROTEST, ECONOMIC COLLAPSE & THE BEIRUT EXPLOSION

Lebanese citizens repeatedly demanded accountable government.

The assassination of former Prime Minister RAFIK HARIRI in 2005 helped produce enormous demonstrations and political upheaval.

By 2019, another mass protest movement challenged corruption, sectarian patronage and economic mismanagement.

The financial system collapsed.
People discovered that money they believed they possessed could no longer simply be withdrawn from banks.

Then, on AUGUST 4, 2020, improperly stored ammonium nitrate exploded at Beirut’s port.
The blast devastated entire neighborhoods.

Again, ordinary people paid for failures of institutions above them.

DOMINATOR MUSING: Protect the institution. Protect the faction. Protect those in authority.

COOPERATOR MUSING: Protect the people.

2025–2026: CAN THE LEBANESE STATE BECOME THE ONLY ARMED AUTHORITY?

Lebanon now confronts a question with strange echoes of the story we began with.

Thousands of years ago, our Sitchinite narrative asked: WHO CONTROLS THE POWER?Anzu?Ninurta?Enlil?Marduk?

Today the names have changed. The underlying political problem has not.

LEBANON DOES THE CAN-CAN

Can the LEBANESE ARMED FORCES become the country’s effective national military throughout Lebanese territory?

Can Hezbollah’s weapons be brought under state authority without plunging Shiite communities and other Lebanese back into civil conflict?

Can Israel withdraw while receiving credible security along its northern frontier?

Can Iran cease treating Lebanon as an arena for its regional confrontation?

Can foreign powers strengthen Lebanese institutions without turning those institutions into instruments of another outside power?

Most importantly:

Can Shiite, Sunni, Christian, Druze and other Lebanese citizens increasingly experience themselves–not as populations requiring competing armed protectors?

Are Lebanese citizens protected by the extant Lebanese state? That is Lebanon’s great unfinished experiment.

Dominators declare, My faction needs weapons because your faction might attack us.
Cooperators say
, Create institutions we can both trust enough that neither family needs a private army.

FROM BAALBEK TO BEIRUT — WHO CONTROLS POWER?

Our journey began with an enormous stone platform in the Cedar Mountains.

In Sitchin’s reconstruction, Baalbek was built so beings descending from the heavens could land upon Earth.

The Deluge came. Baalbek survived.

Gilgamesh went there seeking immortality.

Phoenicians sailed from the nearby coast.

Assyrians demanded tribute.

Alexander conquered Tyre.

Romans raised temples.

Christians, Muslims, and Druze established communities.

Crusaders came.

Mamluks came.

Ottomans ruled.

France drew borders.

Lebanese created an independent republic.

Israelis, Palestinians, Syrians, Iranians, Americans and Lebanese factions subsequently fought over what Lebanon would become.

Yet emperors, armies and political leaders constitute only one history of Lebanon.

There are others: farmers terracing a mountainside, sailors steering home toward Byblos, a mother dividing scarce bread among her children, Druze and Maronite neighbors who refuse to become enemies, Sunni shopkeepers, Shiite farmers, Armenian refugees making Beirut home, teacher opening their classrooms after a bombing, families sweeping shattered glass from the floor and beginning again. These people rarely command armies. They rarely draw borders. They rarely decide when wars begin. Yet they create the country. They do so despite the Domination determination that someone must rule everyone else.

Instead, they realize, as per Great Goddess Ninmah, Howard Zinn, Tom Hartmann, Chris Harman, Martin Luther King, Bernie Sanders, and AOC: We can organize ourselves so each person’s well-being contributes to everyone else’s.
